Running Gait & Shoe Optimisation

Run smarter — reduce injury risk and improve running economy with shoe-matched gait analysis.

What we do

  • Multi-angle video and pressure mapping to identify footstrike, loading and asymmetries.

  • Optional concurrent lactate or VO₂ measures to quantify the metabolic cost of different shoes.

  • Trial multiple shoes/insole options and produce a data-backed recommendation.

Typical session (60–90 min)

  1. Pre-screen & history (10 min).

  2. Warm-up & baseline (5–10 min).

  3. Video + sensor + foot-pressure capture; shoe trial with HR/lactate/VO₂ (30–60 min).

  4. Analysis & immediate debrief (10–15 min). Written report sent post session.

Deliverables

  • PDF with annotated stills, pressure heatmaps and key metrics showing intensity cost per shoe.

  • Shoe & insole recommendations and gait-retraining cues.

  • Option for follow-up shoe trial or 6–8 week review.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

RPG’s testing is performance-focused and not a substitute for podiatric treatment. For runners with a consistent history of injuries we will recommend a podiatrist for clinical orthotic prescription.
