PeakFuel Gels are an ideal gel for those wanting lower fructose, lower caffeine than other caffeinated gels while still proving a compact easy to consume source of carbohydrates for fast energy during exercise and endurance sports.
COACH REEDY’S THOUGHTS:
I wanted to stock a caffeinated gel option that didn’t contain 80-100mg of caffeine so that people could take a lower dose per hour in longer events to have a more subtle, still very beneficial but less problematic dose of caffeine while racing and training. The downside of 80-100mg caffeine dumps at one time is a rapid is that when caffeine inhibits adenosine, it indirectly increases dopamine and norepinephrine. Increase that release with too high a dose can mean a large spike in energy, mood and cognitive function but then a more rapid drop off as your brain starts to run low on these performance boosters.
Additionally for those who struggle to tolerate fructose these gels, contain far less fructose than your standard 2:1 energy gels like Precision Hydration, Maurten etc.
